Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has decided to enhance his quest to teach learners.

Owino is now planning to travel across 47 counties to teach and motivate learners from January 2023.

Since the onset of Covid-19, Owino has been offering free Mathematics classes to Form 4 and Standard 8 candidates.

"On Sunday, I had a mathematics lesson for Standard 8 pupils who will sit KCPE starting November," Owino told the Star.

The legislator picks notable topics that are mostly examined in KCPE and then he teaches about them.

The classes are broadcasted on his Facebook and YouTube pages.

On Sunday, Owino started his lesson with words of motivation to the candidates.

"Babu Owino came from the slums in Nyalenda and here I am. Even you can make it, it's just about the attitude and positive thinking," he said.

The lawmaker has committed to handling different topics weekly.

"We will be handing Grade 4, Junior secondary, and Form One to Form four pupils. We will be going around even in Turkana," he said.

In 2020, Owino was recognized by the United Nations and the Voice of America for his online classes.

The feature compiled by VOA was highlighted on the United Nations Website.

Owino has a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi back in 2012 and scored first-class honors.

He later enrolled in UoN for a Law degree and graduated with second-class honors, upper division in 2020.
