Bravo Kinyua! You did a good job - Ruto lauds former public service boss

President William Ruto has applauded Former Head of Public service Joseph Kinyua for what he termed as occasioning a smooth transition.

Ruto who was speaking after the swearing-in of new Cabinet Secretaries said Kinyua has made the transition from the previous administration to the current in a manner that is commendable.

 

"Joseph Kinyua has made this transition seamless and I want to congratulate him, he has worked with me to make sure Kenya gives an example of what a transition looks like," Ruto said.

" There was an election in Kenya, there was no coup, and because there was an election, it was a button to be handed over from one team to another, you made sure there was seamless working together between the cabinet that was there and the new cabinet."

Ruto also thanked the old cabinet for working with him in the little time they held office in his administration.

" I also want to congratulate the old cabinet because they worked with me to facilitate whatever it was that we needed to do and they have done so up to today," he said.

The head of State said it was a good show that elections were handled in a peaceful manner and also good transitions occurred within the government.

" They have facilitated the smooth transition of administration and that is a good manner that we should continue to display as the people of Kenya that we can go to an election, and conclude in a peaceful, orderly, respectful manner and  be able to transit from one administration to another."

" That is why I have singled out Kinyua and all the other public officers who have made this possible," Ruto said.

Kinyua said that it was an honour to serve four successive administrations.

In his final address, Kinyua said that it has been a humbling journey.

He appreciated former presidents as well as President William Ruto for allowing him to serve under their leadership.

"Your Excellency sir, I hand over the mantle of coordinating the public service to a new generation of civil servants. I thank you and your predecessors for according me the privilege to serve in four successive administrations, notably the second, third, fourth and in your administration," he said.

Kinyua's final task as head of public service was to swear in Felix Koskei who has replaced him in the same capacity.

Koskei doubles up as the State House Chief of staff.
