Cabinet secretary nominee for Roads, Transport and Public works, Kipchumba Murkomen has said that he will be hands-on, if approved by parliament.

Speaking on Wednesday when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments, Murkomen said that he is a strong believer in Devolution.

The senator if confirmed as a CS, he will set aside time to work regional leaders to solve challenges their respective areas are facing if at all they fall under his docket.

"As a believer of devolution, Mr chair I'll not work from from Nairobi. I will once in a month or more so often decide that the ministry today is working from Garissa. We sit there sort all problems that relate to my ministry with leaders of that region," Murkomen said.

His remarks followed questions by members of the vetting committee on issues affecting their various counties and constituencies.

During vetting, Murkomen disclosed that he is worth Sh550 million.

"Mr Speaker, I'm worth an estimated Sh550 million made up of majorly properties; my house in Nairobi and another in Eldoret, three parcels of land in Trans Nzoia, a parcel of land in Narok, in Kajiado and in Nairobi apart from where I live," Murkomen said.

"Cumulatively with a bit of machinery, vehicles, and also I own a wheelbarrow."
