I will bring back professionalism at the DCI, Amin says

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Mohamed Amin has vowed to lead a new chapter in the unit as he takes over from George Kinoti.

Giving his speech on Wednesday after taking an oath, he pledged to carry out his duties as mandated by law.

"I promise the Kenya people that as the DCI, I’m going to discharge my duties and responsibilities professionally with utmost integrity and respect," Amin said.

The new DCI boss vowed to respect human rights while being firm and fair as he sticks to the mandate given to the directorate.

"I urge all people living within Kenya's borders to respect the law and therefore we shall have no reason to come for you," Amin said.

The DCI said he will work in harmony with other security agencies including EACC and the judiciary for purpose of serving the people of Kenya.

Under his watch, Amin said DCI will conduct all its investigations professionally, and expeditiously and see to it that they involve the public to bridge the gap between the directorate and them.

"I’m now back home and  I want to thank President William Ruto for believing in me," he said 

"I want to promise Kenyans that this is a new chapter for DCI and we shall not let you down," Amin added.
