Air traffic controllers to meet in Mombasa for annual fete

The gathering will review the achievements made, celebrate cutting-edge developments

Air traffic controllers will gather in Mombasa to commemorate 100 years of Air Traffic Control.

The International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Association (IFACTA) will host the 33rd regional event that brings together air traffic controllers from Africa and the Middle East from October 20 to October 22, 2022.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) said the gathering will review the achievements made, celebrate cutting-edge developments and discuss issues combated among others.

 

Senior leaders of the Kenya Air Traffic Controllers Association (KATCA) and KCAA will host the celebration.

Other guests expected at the event include Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, KCAA Board Chairman Joseph Nkadayo, KCAA Director General Emile Arai, IFATCA's Executive Vice Chairman Fateh Bekhti.

"The occasion will appreciate participants who have created safe skies for aviation in Africa and the Middle East," KCAA said.

KATCA is a professional body for Air Traffic Controllers. It is an affiliate of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Associations (IFATCA).

It is a non-profit making organization which brings together air traffic controllers with the view of safeguarding the professional aspects of air traffic control whilst maintaining its apolitical stance.
