Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has committed to work with President-elect William Ruto.

The governor said she was also ready to execute work with all leaders to make Kenya a country of opportunity for all.

"I want to assure H.E William Ruto of my firm commitment to working with the National Government on priority areas that will propel the South Eastern Kenya region forward," Wavinya said on Sunday.

Over the weekend, leaders from Ukambani announced that they were ready to work with Ruto for the benefit of the region.

“We have a new President for the Republic of Kenya, the one who will be sworn in on Tuesday. We will work with the President. I am sure Machakos residents have given me the green light to work with him.” she said.

Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua said he hopes Ruto's administration will take on the water problem in the region seriously.

He called for equal distribution of resources across the country from the National government.

“Resources should be distributed equally. If that doesn’t happen, we in the opposition will call a spade a spade. We shall raise the alarm for equitable distribution of government resources and funds without fear or favour. All the money that is in this country belongs to the people of Kenya.” he added.

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau also said Azimio allied leaders were ready to work with Ruto without defecting to Kenya Kwanza.

"Some experiences in politics are humbling. We were in a friendly match in which we as Azimio lost terribly. We have to forge forward united as Kenyans and we will have to work with Ruto. I also want to assure Kenyans that as Wiper leaders, we will be a very strong opposition," he said.
