Pomp and colour is the order of the day at the Ulinzi Sports Complex Langata, as Kenya Defence force holds a farewell ceremony for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Preparations on Friday morning were underway ahead of the ceremony.

A choir and a karate group entertained guests who had already arrived.

The officials from Kenya Defence Forces have been conducting rehearsals for the exercise.

Uhuru has served as Kenya's President and Commander-In-Chief for 10 years following his election in 2013 and re-election in 2017.

He will hand over power to President-elect William Ruto on September 13, during his swearing-in.
