President-elect William Ruto's chief of staff Davis Chirchir has denied being involved in Ruto's campaigns.
Chirchir in an affidavit filed in response to a presidential petition filed by Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua denied conspiring with Ruto digital strategist Dennis Itumbi to rig elections.
Former anti-graft czar John Githongo filed an affidavit Monday claiming Dennis Itumbi hacked the portal and changed Forms 34A in favour of President-elect Ruto.
Chirchir has however denied the allegations saying that he was not involved in Ruto's campaigns.
" I am aware that his campaign secretariat was used for political, technical, communication and strategy meeting during the course of the campaign. I was not involved in Ruto campaigns," Chirchir said.
In an affidavit seen by the star, Chirchir said that neither he nor his staff was involved in accessing, entering nor manipulating the IEBC entries.
"To my knowledge, there was no such tallying system which received data or image from the KIEMS kits, manipulated it or uploaded it to the IEBC system. There was no centre referred to as 'Uchaguzi Tallying'," Chirchir said.
Chirchir further denied working with Dennis Itumbi before, during and after the elections.
"I wish to state that I do not know any of the listed individuals apart from Dennis Itumbi who I have had interactions over the years. He and I did not work together in any capacity in relation to the campaign," he said.
