"Take notice that our instructions are to demand which we hereby do, the immediate withdrawal/revocation/cancellation of the illegal letter by yourself dated July 20, 2022," the letter reads.

UDA warned Metto that if they do not receive a response by the end of the day, they will take legal action.

Kamotho said the party on July 7, approached Metto seeking to hire the Stadium for their final campaign on August 6.

Kamotho further said the Party proceeded to make preparations for the aforementioned dates by contacting service providers and communicating with supporters.

"Any form of interference or breach of the aforesaid contract would unjustifiably subject taxpayers to humongous financial loses accruing from damages running into hundreds of millions of Kenyan Shillings," he warned.

The venue has been a matter of debate after both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio announced that they had booked it for their final campaigns on August 6.

Metto wrote to UDA saying Nyayo will be unavailable, adding that some peace concerts will be taking place there.

"We regret to inform you that due to peace concert scheduled to take place at both Moi International Sports Center- Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium between August 5 to 7 2022. The facility will not be available for their use," the letter said.

Earlier, while addressing the press, the UDA head of the presidential campaign secretariat Governor Josephat Nanok claimed that Metto's hand was forced, in regard to the cancellation.
