Ruto will win this election and Raila will go to court - Shollei

Uasin Gishu woman representative Gladys Shollei has said that Azimio la Umoja candidate Raila Odinga will not concede defeat in the August 9 polls. 

According to Shollei, Deputy President William Ruto will win the presidential election and Raila will file a petition to dispute it.

"History will repeat itself and Raila has always filed for a petition against any other election he has contested in and lost," she told Citizen TV on Wednesday.

Shollei said that Raila has never accepted any election results and therefore, Kenya Kwanza is ready to face his petition because they believe in the rule of law.

Kenya Kwanza has on several occasions taunted Raila challenging him to openly declare that he will accept election results should he lose.

Raila has thrice disputed presidential election results in the 2007, 2013 and 2017 claiming he beat his competitors.

Speaking on Tuesday, Raila in an interview TV stations committed to accepting defeat and congratulating the winner.

"Definitely, I'm the sportsman between me and him (Ruto) and I know that asiyekubali kushindwa sio mshindani," Raila said.

The ODM leader who will be making his fifth, and seemingly his last stab at the presidency in the 2022 general election is facing stiff competition from Deputy President William Ruto.

Sholei applauded IEBC saying that the commission is prepared well enough, considering the challenges that it has been through.
