All set for Ruto's manifesto launch

It is all systems go for  Deputy President William Ruto ahead of his manifesto launch.

This comes after the coalition toured all the 47 counties for economic forums during which they collected views on the specific needs of each county.

The launch of the manifesto will take place at Kasarani stadium from 6:30 pm.

It will be live on Tv, online platforms and on radio stations, Director of communications at  DP Ruto’s campaign team Hussein Mohamed said.

The manifesto is said to be an accumulation of people’s needs and solutions.

“They listened to the needs and aspirations, priorities and solutions as expressed and proposed by a cross-section of Kenyans in the agriculture and business sectors and among various interest group,” Hussein said.

"During these engagements, Kenyans expressed their views, shared their ideas and spoke of their hopes and expectations."

When Ruto unveiled his running mate,  Rigathi Gachagua on May 15, announced that his team had planned 45-day economic discussions in counties across Kenya.

Three teams, comprising six governors, elected MPs and some Kenya Kwanza affiliate party leaders have been steering DP Ruto’s presidential campaigns across the country. 

They are led by Ruto, his running mate Rigathi Gachagua and Amani National Congress boss Musalia Mudavadi.

Hussein said the manifesto will echo the bottom-up economic model which entails input from citizens and that of the Kenya Kwanza Coalition economic team.

"The August 2022 election is about the economy and only Kenya Kwanza has a plan on how to liberalize. And revive the economy,”  he said.

“That plan will be shared tomorrow together. With commitments to initiate necessary measures to meet the hopes and expectations of our people.”

In addition, the Kenya Kenya Kwanza alliance has encouraged its leaders to organize viewing sessions of the manifesto launch.

“We encourage our leaders to organize viewing sessions their wards, constituencies as well as their county ground so that our people can witness the making of this covenant and follow grand occasion in their millions,” Hussein stated.
