Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has called for equal treatment of all candidates seeking clearance to vie for elective seats.

Speaking on Monday at DP Ruto's Karen residence, Sakaja questioned why certain requirements were tailored for specific candidates.

While seemingly speaking in jest, Sakaja took a swipe at ODM leader Raila Odinga saying some of the demands the Commission for University Education has issued to him should also be directed to the Azimio leader.

"Wakitaka niende na gown pia Raila abebe gown. Twende na gown zetu uko, tuoneshe gown za graduation," he said

This loosely translates to, "If they want me to go with my gown, Raila should also carry his. Let us go with our gowns, we show them our graduation gowns".

He said it is not fair that there seem to be two sets of laws; one for him and another for the rest of the people.

The UDA governor aspirant lauded DPP Noordin Haji for writing to IG Hillary Mutyambai to question all candidates with questionable academic papers.

He defended his education saying his track record in the past vindicates him.

"If you look at the Constitution, Article 89, word for word, I did that at the age of 24... Does that sound like someone who is not learned?" he asked.
