Covid 19: Kenya records 202 positive cases

The positivity rate is now at 7.2%.

Kenya on Thursday recorded 202 positive cases of Covid 19 from a sample size of 2,787.

The positivity rate is now at 7.2%.

Of the cases, 164 are Kenyans while 38 are foreigners. 102 are females and 100 males.

The youngest is one a one-year-old while the oldest is 86 years old.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the total number of confirmed positive cases is now 326,217 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,692,073.

The distribution of positive cases by age is as follows; 0-nine years (11),10-19 years (19), 20-29 years (33), 30-39 (54), 40-49 (36) 50-59 (27), 60 years and above (22).

The number of patients recovered is 91, all of them from the Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.

"This pushes the total recoveries to 319,208 of whom 266,177 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,031 are from various health facilities countrywide," Kagwe said.

No patient has succumbed to the disease therefore the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,651.

There are 31 patients currently admitted to the health facilities, while 1,327 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), none is on supplemental oxygen and no patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
