Former Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe got a setback on Friday after the high court nullified his Gubernatorial nomination certificate

The court nullified the nomination certificate that was issued to him by the Wiper Party.

Justice Christine Meoli ruled that the nomination certificate was issued to Malombe unlawfully and in breach of the law.

She directed Wiper to carry out fresh nominations in the next 72 hours.

In the case, Ambassador Kiema Kilonzo had moved to court challenging the decision by Wiper Party to award a direct nomination to Malombe.
