Justice and Freedom Party presidential candidate Justus Juma and independent candidate Dorothy Kemunto have been locked out of the presidential race due to failure to submit the required documents.

Juma was appearing before IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati for a second time at the Bomas of Kenya for clearance.

When he appeared before the commission for verification of his documents last Sunday, Juma was turned away for having "insufficient documentation".

"We reject your application because you do not have the required documentation...You can reapply then we will consider,” Chebukati said.

And when he reappeared on Thursday, Chebukati said he had not complied with his directive.

The commission said he had invalid and insufficient supporters' from the required counties.

Addressing the press after the process, Juma claimed there were forces out to block his candidature.

"This is very sad, it is even in the public domain that some forces wanted me out. I submitted the necessary signatures and photocopies of IDs as was required," he said.

Independent candidate Dorothy Kemunto nearly suffered the same fate after her running mate turned up with an unsigned declaration form, code of conduct and uncertified degree certificates.

She was ordered to return later in the day with dully filled documents.

James Kamau also an independent candidate was given until Friday morning to submit signatures from 23 counties.

While his running mate did not have his certificates certified, he also failed to submit a banker's cheque.
