Three people have died in a road accident in Sobea area along the Eldoret Nakuru highway after the matatu they were travelling in rammed into a trailer.

According to the eyewitnesses, the matatu from Mololine Sacco which was heading to Busia rammed into the trailer which was branching to a petrol station on the opposite side.

The driver of the matatu tried to swerve to avoid ramming into the trailer which made an abrupt turn without any indication in vain.

Among those who perished in the afternoon, of the crash is the driver of the matatu who died instantly.

Confirming the accident, Rongai OCPD Wilberforce Sicharani said that those injured have been rushed to various hospitals within Nakuru city.

“We are still confirming the actual number of those who have been injured because they have been taken to various hospitals in Nakuru hurriedly,” Sicharani said.

The bodies of those who have perished have been taken to Nakuru Level Five hospital mortuary
