Earlier, Ruto presided over the Busia County Economic Forum in Nambale that was attended by Party Leaders Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Kuria (Chama Cha Kazi) and Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya).

Also present were Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, MPs Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West) among others.

The Deputy President said Kenya Kwanza was keen on stimulating cross-border informal trade to support more livelihoods and drive the growth of the economy.

“We will place small traders at the centre of our decision-making table and initiate pro-business policies that will fuel their growth,” he told the people of Busia.

Mudavadi asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to take responsibility for the high cost of living.
