Supporters of Mathare MP aspirant Kevin Kioko, alias Bahati, held a protest outside Jubilee House, along Thika Super Highway on Monday.
These came after Bahati alleged that he had been implored by the Jubilee leadership to step down from the race in favour of the current MP Anthony Oluoch, who is running on an ODM ticket.
They were joined by supporters of other leaders who were also protesting the process of issuing nomination certificates by the party.
The chaos forced police officers to take charge of the premises to contain them from causing any destruction.
"We should not be chased away from the offices. We are Jubilee. We just need to be served with integrity and dignity," one aspirant said.
Bahati had earlier been issued with the nomination certificate before his claims of being told to step down emerged.
The MP aspirant broke down while addressing the media claiming that the nominations process was marred with fraudulent deals.
He added that he was not going to step down as Mathare residents need him.
"I personally have made a decision that I'm not backing down from the race. My name will be on the ballot on August 9."
Bahati said he understands the needs of the people in the area and will therefore continue with his bid to be their MP.
He claimed that ODM has zoned the constituency as its, a move he says is wrong adding that the people should be left to choose their preferred leader.
