The Ministry of Education has urged parents and guardians to ensure their children are registered for the national examinations that will be held later this year.

Registration of Grade Six, Standard 8 and Form Four candidates for the examinations will begin next week, April 27 and close on May 14.

Early Learning and Basic Education PS Julius Jwan said the registration is free and warned school heads from both public and private schools from demanding registration money from parents.

Education CS George Magoha, while releasing the 2021 KSCE results, urged parents to ensure the students are registered.

"The government takes care of the registration fee," he said.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officials are expected to hold a meeting on Tuesday with sub-county directors to ensure CBC students are set to sit national exams.

Grade six will be assessed in October and November to ensure timely and accurate registration of learners.

The exercise will facilitate and support earners to prepare adequately for assessments.
