The National Assembly was on Thursday host to chaotic scenes as Wajir Woman Rep was tabling evidence linking Deputy President William Ruto to land grabbing.

The afternoon session was largely dominated by shouting and booing as the woman MP attempted to table her evidence.

It was during the ensuing melee that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino allegedly uttered some words deemed to be unparliamentary.

Speaker Justin Muturi, who was having trouble controlling the session, ordered the sergeants at arms to eject the youthful MP from the Chambers after the slur.

"Order members, order, why are you bringing all these drama," Muturi shouted.

Despite the Speakers insistence that the youthful MP leaves the House, Owino refused to abide.

Attempts by the Sergeants at arms to forcefully eject the MP failed to bear fruits after some MPs prevented them from affecting the order.

The standoff lasted for about ten minutes before the Speaker resorted to prematurely adjourning the House business.

"We will deal with it at the appropriate time. My order for Hon Babu Owino to leave the chamber has not been vacated," Muturi said.

The Speaker said according to Standing Order 112, he had no option but to adjourn the session.

"The time being 13 minutes after 5 pm, the proceedings of today are adjourned until Tuesday 10th of May 2022 at 2:30 pm," Muturi ruled.
