Kenya records 5 new cases of Covid, no recoveries

No patient has succumbed to the disease; cumulative fatalities remain at 5,649.

Kenya has recorded 5 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,928 tested in the last 24 hours.

On Wednesday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in statement 4 are Kenyans while 1 is a foreigner, 3 males, and 2 females.

The youngest patient is 31 years while the oldest is 87 years.

In terms of County distribution; Uasin Gishu 4 and Nairobi 1.

Confirmed positive cases are 323,588 while cumulative tests are 3,557,516.

Fortunately, no patient has succumbed to the disease, hence, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,649.

The CS added that no patients have recovered from the disease.

Total recoveries remain 317,801 of whom 264,783 are from the Home-Based, and isolation program while 53,018 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Eleven patients are currently admitted to various health facilities while 127 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on supplemental oxygen or in the general wards.

No patient in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Vaccination Campaign 

A total of 17,781,325 vaccines have been administered across the country.

The number of doses administered to the adult population is 16,263,230.

Another 1,229,231 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 288,864 are booster doses.

The positivity rate is now at 0.2 per cent.
