The Safina party NDC held at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi, on Monday offered the perfect opportunity for businessman Jimi Wanjigi's daughter to give a reflection speech on who her father is.

The NDC was convened to endorse the businessman as the party's presidential candidate.

Dressed in a white suit, Wambui Wanjigi was ushered to the podium to share her thoughts on the father's  big day.

“You have to excuse me as I am inexperienced with speech writing. One of the greatest lessons my father taught my brother and me is always to believe in our dreams and pursue them with passion," Wambui Wanjigi said amid giggles.

Wambui said Wanjigi's dedication to their family and work is one of the qualities that she admires the most.

"He has been my role model, teacher and best friend. I wish you well dad as you take this mantle to be the fifth president of Kenya," she said as the crowd applauded.

"It is my hope that when you are sent to that office, you serve the people. Every person deserves a decent life and the opportunity to live in dignity. It is my prayer that the people of Kenya get to experience the greater visionary leader you are."

Safina party has endorsed Wanjigi as their preferred presidential candidate ahead of the August 9 polls.

At least 2,000 delegates met at Bomas of Kenya for the NDC.
