Tension is high in Kapkosum village, Mochongoi, Baringo South after suspected bandits raided the area and disrupted KCPE exams in two schools.

Businesses were also interrupted during the morning raid. Police said the security situation has been restored.

KCPE exams kicked off across the country on Monday.

Baringo county has been a subject of concern for candidates even as the national exams starts countrywide.

In recent times, attacks have intensified in the area to a level that the bandits are targeting learning institutions.

One such attack on Tot High School students and teachers, who were on their way to school after a field trip, left a school bus driver dead last month.

Bandits attacked one of the three buses that were ferrying students and indiscriminately shot at the occupants including teachers.

13 people were injured during the attack.
