KCSE candidates to apply courses by April 1

Students will pay Sh500 application fees.

Candidates sitting their 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination have until April 1 to submit their choice of courses.

Both candidates and school centres can now apply for suitable universities or TVETs courses from Monday.

This is after Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service announced that school heads and students can now access the portal.

KUCCPS opened the portal for application just after the students started their practical exams on Monday.

"To school principals, submit KCSE candidates’ course choices by April 1, 2022," reads a notice by KUCCPS.

Students will pay Sh500 application fees.

This year, the council registered 1,225,507 candidates in 28,316 KCPE examination centres as compared to 1,191,752 candidates in 28,467 centres in 2020.

This reflects an increase of 33,755 representing 2.75 per cent.

In KCSE exam, 831,015 candidates were registered in 10,413 centres compared to 752,981 in 10,437 centres in 2020.

This reflects an increase of 78,034 representing 9.39 per cent. KCPE exam centres will be served from 491 distribution centres while KCSE exam centres will be served from 483 distribution centres.
