EACC, SRC sign collaboration pact on public management

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Salaries and Remuneration Commission have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on public management.

According to the two organisations, the pact will help them in exchanging information on building capacity among public institutions towards enhancement of prudent management of public resources.

According to EACC Chairman Eliud Wabukala, the partnership will provide opportunities to leverage on their different mandates which are interdependent in the performance of their respective functions.

"Ultimately, we share a common goal of promoting good governance in our country," he said.

CEO, Twalib Mbarak added; "I am certain we will strengthen the fight against corruption and both Commissions will continue to deepen the existing partnership, as we seek to entrench good governance, accountability and transparency in the discharge of our respective mandate."

The MoU was signed on Tuesday by EACC and SRC chairpersons.

The cooperation will include; Cooperation and partnership in investigations especially in information sharing on issues of unethical conduct, Reduction of wastage in the application of institutional resources and capacity building, among others.

The two institutions will develop a framework of cooperation that will help achieve their interests.
