Deputy President William Ruto has continued with his attacks on his boss Uhuru Kenyatta who is believed to be backing ODM leader Raila Odinga for the Presidency.

Speaking during his campaign trails in the Kisii region, the DP said his real competitor is hiding behind the shadows of the ODM leader.

In an apparent attack at Uhuru, Ruto challenged the Head of State to come forward and face them head-on.

"Tokeni Nyuma ya Kitendwawili na mkuje mshindane na sisi. You should stop hiding behind your puppet and come face us," he said.

The DP has been labelling the ODM leader as a puppet who has been fronted by President Uhuru to advance his interest and that of others who are keen on his candidature.

He dismissed their efforts to front  Raila saying the move is dead on arrival adding that Raila cannot change the fortunes of millions of Kenyans in need.

"The people of Kenya want a man who wants to work for all of us," he said.

The remarks comes barely a week after he told the Head of State that he is ready to face him if he wants to join the 2022 succession politics.

President Uhuru on Monday announced that he will be making entry into politics now that he has delivered his manifesto.

"They are obsessed with managing their succession but I want to tell them that we are ready for that contest my friends, bring it on. Tuko tayari kabisa," Ruto said.

He defended his track record in government, saying that he took part in each and every project that became a success in the Jubilee administration,

He told off Uhuru for saying he has done nothing other than non-stop politicking on top of cars.

"I have been in government long enough to understand that policies and theoretical works are done in offices but implemented on the ground that sometimes entails doing so from the car tops," Ruto responded.

He added: "Jubilee government was a joint project between me and my friend President Uhuru Kenyatta".

"You cannot deny me as deputy president the credit for many projects that we have achieved together. It is not going to happen my friends. Anybody imagining that they can deny me credit is wasting their time."
