The elaborate ceremony was held at the DCI headquarters spearheaded by the DCI director George Kinoti.

The Ant-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) was the first team to be rewarded for exemplary performance of their duties.

The detectives are highly trained locally and overseas in close-quarter battles for counter-terrorism and hostage rescue operations and are on standby in case of any eventuality.

Also awarded was the DCI Volleyball team the “DCI Queens” which has brought pride and admiration not only to the Directorate but the country at large.

The team brought the Nyerere Cup home for the third year in a row, after making its debut in the national volleyball league in 2019. Despite having the youngest and most inexperienced players at the national stage, the team finished at position four ahead of established teams that have made headlines in the past.
