ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna has said that the party leader, Raila Odinga's dream for Kenya remains the same.

Speaking in Kasarani Friday during the Azimio la Umoja convention, Sifuna said that the ODM leader's dream to have a united Kenya has never changed.

"Baba ni yule yule wanasema hata chui habadilishi spots zake. Yeye mwenyewe ametuambia unaweza kubadilisha mbinu lakini ile ndoto na  ari ya kuona kama kenya ni taifa moja haijabadilika," he said.

This translates to, "Baba (Raila) is the same, they say leopards don't change their spots. He himself has told us that you can change tact but the dream to see Kenya become a nation has not changed."

Sifuna noted that the former Prime Minister has been sharing messages of unity since he joined politics.

"We ought to have a nation, not a state."

He added that the ODM boss stands a high chance if he announces his bid because he has made inroads and has massive support from areas that did not embrace him in previous elections.

Sifuna said that all signs show that this is God's timing and it is the best.

Reacting to One Kenya Alliance leaders turning down invites to attend the event, the ODM secretary-general refused to comment on it saying that he'd rather celebrate the people present at Kasarani stadium.

"Let's celebrate the people present here not those who are not here," Sifuna said.

He also said that 2022 will be a two-horse race, should Raila announce his candidature.

The former PM is expected to make the big announcement and also officially launch something, at the Azimio la Umoja convention.

Various leaders including governors, senators, MPs, MCAs as well as dignitaries are present at Kasarani.

Some Cabinet secretaries are also present at the convention.
