Four children drown in shallow well in Kitui

Four children have drowned in a shallow well in Mwitika location of Kitui Kitui East sub-county.

The four had decided to swim in the well belonging to a neighbor when they drowned.

Local chief Daniel Mutuvi said the well was overflowing with water due to the heavy rains that had been experienced in the are the previous night.

Mutuvi said the bodies are yet to be retrieved.

He however said that he had reported the incident to the nearby Zombe police station for investigations.
