Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua will hold an exclusive meeting with Speaker Justin Muturi, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, and Dr Mukhisa Kituyi on Saturday.

According to an invite seen by the Star, the meeting is expected to start at 10 am at the Starwood Hotel in Kerugoya.

The invite stated that they will discuss political issues ranging from good leadership and governance for the country, as well as the unity of the country.

The invite further stated that they will discuss the unity of Mount Kenya.

It is believed that Muturi and Karua will discuss ways of uniting the people of Mount Kenya East and West who are divided between the factions of Kieleweke and Tangatanga.

On September 3, Mukhisa, Muturi and Kibwana unveiled a political movement dubbed 'Muungano wa Wazalendo' which translates to unity of patriots.

The three leaders have expressed in interest in vying for the presidency.

They were hosted by Kibwana who was recently reinstated as Muungano Party leader after he fell out with Wiper Party chief Kalonzo Musyoka.

While addressing the media in Makueni, Muturi, Kituyi, Kibwana and Karua said the coalition will open its doors to other like-minded leaders with only one ultimate goal: to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Karua is also part of a league she jointly unveiled with Chama Cha Kazi’s Moses Kuria and The Service Party’s Mwangi Kiunjuri to champion what they termed as unity group of the Mount Kenya region.

Recently, the group announced a plan to hold Limuru Three in January and declare their stand ahead of the August 9, 2022 presidential election.

A source said Karua is positioning herself as a suitable candidate for the position of deputy president.

Already, ODM leader Raila Odinga is said to be eyeing former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth as his suitable deputy from Mount Kenya while Deputy President William Ruto has kept his cards close to his chest.

Speaking to the Star on Friday, the People’s Party of Kenya leader Jacob Gitau, whose party is a member of the Mount Kenya unity forum, acknowledged that he has been invited to attend the event.

“Peoples’ Party of Kenya, which is a member of Mount Kenya Unity Forum, has been invited but it’s purely Karua’s event, and not a Mount Kenya event," Gitau said.

Tujibebe Wakenya Party leader William Kabogo hasn’t been invited for tomorrow's event.

Kabogo faulted Karua for not involving other party members in their discussion about the January meeting in Limuru.

He said that Karua leading two groups will complicate and mislead Kenyans ahead of the 2022 polls.

“We will hold a meeting with other officials to discuss whether we are on course with our agenda, or Karua has ditched us for Muturi, Kituyi and Kibwana,” Kabogo said.
