Kenya National Highways Authority director general Peter Mundinia has officially handed over to acting DG Eng David Muchilwa.

Mundinia exits after serving two terms of three years each.

He took over from Linus Tonui on August 28, 2015, and was later reappointed on August 28, 2018, for another term.

The authority said that Mundinia has been instrumental in the implementation of performance-based contracting in roads maintenance and management, construction of high-impact infrastructure projects across the country, among others.

The board wished him the best in his next chapter and welcomed Muchilwa as he takes over.

Mundinia was on leave pending his exit, according to an internal memo from Kenha Board of Directors chairperson Wangai Ndirangu.

The step was to pave way for the recruitment process of the new director general.

“Eng. Mundinia has been an integral part of growth and success of the Kenya National Highways Authority in the past six years. His contributions and commitment will always be remembered and worthy of admiration,” Ndirangu said.
