17 deaths recorded as 432 test positive for Covid-19

Total recoveries stand 117, 345.

The Ministry of Health has announced 432 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total case load in the country to 171, 658.

The new cases are from 3, 800 samples tested in the last 24 hours in which 424 are Kenyans while 8 are foreigners.

At the same time, 17 deaths were reported two from the last 24 hours while 15 are late death reports from facility audits in April.

A total of 306 patients have recovered from the disease, 217 from the Home-based isolation and care while 89 are from various health facilities. Total recoveries stand 117, 345.

The number of patients currently admitted in hospitals is 1, 227 while 4,957 are on Home-based isolation and care.

Patients who are currently in the intensive Care Unit are 102, 23 of whom are on ventilatory support and 59 on supplemental oxygen. 20 others are under observation.

Another 95 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 88 of them in general wards and 7 in High Dependency units.

The new cases are distributed as follows: Kisumu 145, Nairobi 52, Siaya 34, Mombasa 26, Migori 21, Nakuru 19, Kilifi 18, Nyamira 14, Vihiga 11, Kitui and Uasin Gishu 10 cases each.

Nandi 9, Turkana and Kericho 7 cases each, Baringo and Bungoma 6 cases each, Kajiado 5, Homa Bay 4, Kiambu, Kisii, Busia, Meru and Tharaka Nithi 3 cases each, Embu, Kakamega, Narok and West Pokot 2 cases each, Elgeyo Marakwet, Garissa, Laikipia, Machakos and Mandera recorded a case each.
