The United Democratic Alliance party has unveiled its candidates for the upcoming Muguga ward and Kiambaa constituency by-election.

The party Secretary General Veronica Maina on Friday awarded nomination certificates to John Njuguna Wanjiku and Kamau Thumbi for Kiambaa and Muguga respectively.

Maina said the party will commence campaigns for the two seats.

Meanwhile, Jublilee party decided to change tack and opted for interviews rather than conducting nominations for aspirants of the by-election.

The party has suffered a major setback following a string of loses in its perceived strongholds in the Juja, Rurii and Bonchari by-elections.

All aspirants for the Muguga ward and Kiambaa constituency by-elections have been asked to present themselves at the party headquarters on Saturday for the interview.

Jubilee party secretary General said in a statement on Thursday that successful  candidates shall be presented with nomination certificate in accordance with the party Nomination Rules2010.

"We regret any inconvenience caused by the change of mode of nominations," Tuju said.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui faulted Jubilee's  nomination process for the  major election loses.

The legislator noted that the party has been imposing candidates because of connections emotions or economic gain.

"The outcome of recent by elections show a growing disconnect with the public feelings. We cannot address this challenge by denying its existence," Kinyanjui said.

"Consequently, we strongly believe it is time to institute drastic and wide-ranging changes at the party helm; to inject fresh blood and rejuvenate the dreams of it’s support base. This is a necessary bitter pill that we must swallow," he said.
