Wiper Party is apparently making moves to woo former party Chairman David Musila to come back to the party.

Musila resigned from his position and quit the party over the controversial Wiper nomination for the 2017 gubernatorial election.

He accused the party leader Kalonzo Musyoka of rigging the party primaries in favour of the then Kitui Governor Julius Malombe.

Musila sought election as an independent candidate but he lost the contest to current Governor Charity Ngilu.

Kalonzo met Musila last Saturday at the burial of Sheria Musyoka in Nguni ward, Mwingi Central, Kitui county.  The Sheria who died in the USA on February 4 was the same as local politician Musyoka Wanzili.

During the ceremony, Kalonzo and Musila, sat side by side and were occasionally seen chatting.

The public cozy encounter between Kalonzo and Musila at the funeral only served to give credence to information in the grapevine that the two have been secretly meeting in Nairobi in an attempt by Wiper leader to thaw his frosty relationship with Musila since the contention Kitui Wiper primaries.

Although no one has gone public about Kalonzo’s reported advances to Musila, the Kitui woman representative Irene Kasalu and Mwingi West MP  Charles Nguna  who addressed the mourners urged Musila to agree to return to the fold and help boost Kalonzo’s chance of clinching the Presidency in 2022.

The MP who together with local politician Mutati Nzoka, said by returning to the fold, Musila would be instrumental in Wiper 2022 Presidential campaigns as the party would tap into his political experience and wealth of ideas.

Kitui executive for natural resources, Patrick Koki Musau, said since his boss governor Charity Ngilu had agreed to work with Kalonzo towards placing the Kamba community in an advantageous position in the country’s political chase gam, Musila’s inclusion could not be gainsaid.

“Kalonzo needs Musila in his team so that they could reach out to other Kenyans tribes to back Kalonzo as he takes a shot at the presidency. On our part we will work with the MPs to ensure Kalonzo home turf in unshakable as we also lay the ground for Ngilu’s second term,” Musau said.

During his address to the mourners, Kalonzo made no secret that he needed Musila back into his team to boost his presidential ambition.

“I want to tell Musila to grab the cane and to politically streamline the Kamba nation, for us not to disintegrate and become useless, ” Kalonzo said.

Musila who was the chairman of the burial committee and had addressed the mourners before Kalonzo entourage arrived did not make any political statement as the family spokesman Caxton Munyoki had cautioned against dragging politics into the ceremony. He, therefore, did not get the chance to respond.
