More than 50 revellers were arrested in a police operation at a club in Mlolongo area, Athi River.

During the confrontation, the Machakos County Police Commander Isa Mohamed and his driver were roughed up as they tried to get into the club to check what was happening.

The officers were on patrol at 3 am when they realized the club was operating contrary to Covid-19 containment rules.

It was then that they tried to get there that the bouncers roughed them.

It forced the county commander to shoot to the air before he called for reinforcement to have the revellers arrested.

They are expected in court to face various charges including failing to wear masks.
