Robbery suspect says he was framed after evicting illegal brewer

Denied the charges and the magistrate released him on Sh 500,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

A man charged with robbery with violence told a Kibera court that he was framed.

Solomon Ngairu said the complainant was doing an illicit brew business and he only  tried to evict him from the plot only to be framed with robbery charges

Ngairu told senior principal magistrate Esther Boke that the complainant's business was attracting many drunkards in the plot  hence the need to evict him.

The charge sheet indicated that on August 3 in Kawangware, Nairobi county, Ngairu robbed Patrick Odhiambo of his phone and household items while armed with a machette.

He is accused of stealing a LG TV, two mobile phones, a 6kg gas cylinder and a mattress, all items were approximated to be worth Sh63,900. 

He denied the charges and the magistrate released him on Sh 500,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

Boke directed the case to be mentioned on October 7.
