Heavy rains expected in some parts of the country for the next 7 days

Some areas will experience cold weather temperatures below 15˚C.

• These includes Bomet, Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Nyeri, Samburu and Nyandarua counties.

• Other counties including Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, Garissa, Kitui, Tana River, Makueni, Taita Taveta and Kajiado are expected to remain relatively dry for the next one week.

The weather forecast for the next seven days indicates that some parts of the country will receive heavy rainfall of above 70 mm.

These includes Bomet, Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Nyeri, Samburu and Nyandarua counties.

Other parts of the country will receive a moderate rainfall between 50-70 mm including Nyamira, Kisii, Narok, Migori, Kisumu, Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Nakuru, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, and Nyeri counties.

 

Some areas such as Nairobi Kiambu, Embu, Tharaka, Meru, Machakos, Narok, Homa Bay, Siaya, Migori, Turkana, Laikipia and the coastal region are set to receive light rainfall of 20-50 mm.

Other counties including Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, Garissa, Kitui, Tana River, Makueni, Taita Taveta and Kajiado are expected to remain relatively dry for the next one week.

The weatherman has also said some areas will experience cold weather temperatures below 15˚C.

These include parts of Meru, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Laikipia, Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Makueni and Kajiado.

Residents of Trans Nzoia and Bungoma  have been asked to brace for a cold week by wearing warm cloths during the cold weather.
