Three bodies of suspected members of the Wakali Kwanza gong shot dead in Junda, Kisauni subcounty, are unclaimed.

Subcounty police commander Julius Kirago said the three bodies are  lying at Coast provincial general hospital mortuary.

“We suspect the families of the deceased have not realised that their kin are dead. I call upon members of the public whose kin are missing to check with the police stations," Kirago said.

He said police had not recorded any statement from families and the bodies were still unidentified.

The deceased did not have identification documents at the time of they were killed.

Two suspects were buried last week after their bodies were identified by family members.

Kirago confirmed that  one suspect was buried last Thursday in  Kaloleni in Kilifi county and the other at Mbarak cementry  in Mombasa.

Police have said they remain alert to ensure suspected Wakali Kwanza members do not attack the members of public following the death of the five gang members.

Police shot dead two suspected Wakali Kwanza members while members of public lynched three others.

A group of about 20 suspected Wakali Kwanza gangsters attacked members of the public last month as a revenge following the death of  Abdallah alias Dula Dula, a suspected gang member.

Police said the suspects attacked over ten people and left them with cut injuries after the burial of Dula Dula who was lynched by mob for allegedly breaking into a house in Junda and stealing electronics.
