KDF recruitment cancelled after MPs question change of centres

The government on Thursday cancelled KDF recruitment after MPs demanded that the exercise be conducted in the subcounties instead of county headquarters.

Recruitment was to start from October 28 to November 7.

MPs had ordered Defence CS Raychelle Omamo to appear before the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee to explain the change of recruitment centres.

The MPs said the change was a plot to lock out many youths from joining the forces, adding that it would be difficult for many to get to county headquarters because of the distance.
