Hillary Mutyambai will tomorrow know whether he will replace Joseph Boinett as the next Inspector General of Police.

This is after the Senate and National Assembly Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations jointly approved his nomination.

President Uhuru Kenyatta last month officially notified Parliament of the nomination as required by law.

The two Houses are thus expected to separately debate on the report before the final approval.

If approved, Mutyambai will then officially be sworn in and take the mantle from Boinett who was named Tourism CAS and will equally be subjected to a vetting process before his appointment.

During the vetting, Mutyambai said he will uphold high standards of integrity to serve as an example to other officers.

"I will treat every officer as a clean officer. I will engage all of them to agree on our mode of our operation. From there, I will start monitoring them to identify the corrupt officers," he said.

When questioned about his wealth, he revealed his net worth was Sh30 million.

Mutyambai further added that he will ensure full implementation of the National Police Management system and transform every police station into a service centre.

"I will engage the NPSC and SRC to review the rates for house allowance for police," he said adding that some rates, especially for those serving in Nairobi, are low.
