Kenya Power has acquired new equipment to improve the testing of meters and distributing them to customers.
The new equipment raises daily capacity for meter testing from 150 meters to 390 meters, making distributing the meters faster.

The company has also acquired 25 portable testing units for staff attending to industrial customers. The move will make it easier to resolve customer queries on meter readings and make it easier to read meters accurately on the premises.

The Energy Act requires Kenya Power to confirm the accuracy of meters before they are distributed. It meets the requirements for the competence of testing and calibrating laboratories by the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS).
