Seven killed as matatu collides with truck on Eldoret-Nakuru highway

At least seven people died when a matatu collided with a truck at Mlango Tatu on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

Rift Valley Traffic Commander

Ziro Arome said the accident which occurred

at 2:30pm on Tuesday

involved truck and a

matatu.

"The driver of the truck was

heading

from Eldoret towards Nakuru. He was overtaking other vehicles when the accident occurred," he said.

Arome said the driver knocked the matatu that was being driven by Joseph Kiraitu Githaiga.

"Due to the impact of the accident both drivers died and five passengers were injured seriously," he said.

Survivors

are admitted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
