A 26-year-old woman from Kisumu set her house on fire on Monday, killing herself and two children aged six and three.
She was allegedly having problems with her husband.
The incident happened near Otonglo market along the Kisumu-Busia road.
Chief Simon Orwa, the woman bought petrol from a nearby filling station.
He said the woman and her husband, who works in Eldoret, quarreled often.
Nothing was salvaged from the house as the woman locked it before setting it on fire.
