The Akasha brothers on Wednesday pleaded guilty to six counts of drug trafficking charges in the Southern District of New York.
Directorate of Criminal Investigations, in a tweet, thanked the head of Anti-Narcotics Unit for preparing a watertight case against the two brothers, Baktash Akasha and Ibrahim Akasha.
"The Director Anti Narcotics Unit personally flew to the USA having diligently prepared the case and managed to have the two accused persons plead guilty to Drug Trafficking charges, corruption to defeat extradition and conspiracy to use guns to facilitate their drug Trafficking business," the DCI said.
In November 2014, warrants of arrest were issued by the US court for the suspects.
The date for their sentencing
has not been revealed.
