EACC detectives on Tuesday raided the home of former Transport CS Michael Kamau at Windy Ridge Estate along Pepo Lane in Karen.

It is not clear why the detectives raided the former CS's home but the court had allowed the commission

to probe him afresh

over alleged abuse of office and flouting of tender rules.

Kamau had challenged his prosecution before the Appeal Court, arguing that the anti-graft agency was not properly constituted when the charges were levelled against him.

He was facing charges of flouting procurement procedures in the tender for construction of Kamukuywa-Kaptama-Kapsokwony-Sirisia road.

The Sh33 million tender was awarded to Engiconsult Consulting Engineers.

DPP Noordin Haji, in giving consent for the former CS' prosecution, said: "We approved the charges and asked EACC to go ahead."

Kamau was among the Cabinet Secretaries featured in President Uhuru Kenyatta's 'list of shame'.

The list of about 175 state officers was handed over to EACC after the State of Nation Address on March 26, 2015.

The former CS and ten others tried to stop their prosecution saying the EACC had no mandate to investigate them.

The Anti-Corruption Court discharged the former Transport CS of the graft case against him soon after the Court of Appeal terminated the same.
