Police in Lamu have a case of a

woman who was allegedly strangled to death by her husband and her body hidden in their house at Gadeni for three days.

Area police boss Juma Londo said they believe Samuel Muhuri, 33, killed the wife following a domestic dispute on Wednesday.

The man was arrested shortly after he was handed over to the police by his in-laws whom he had confessed to killing Janet Wambua Nyaga, 34,

"Police broke into the house which was locked from outside.

We found a wire tied tightly around the woman's neck," Londo said.

He said the woman's neighbours reported the matter after she went missing and could not be reached on the phone.

"Police found the decomposing body in the living room.

The suspect, who is being held at Mpeketoni police station, faces a murder charge," Londo said.

The police boss asked couples to resolve their differences amicably instead of resorting to murder or suicide.

Samuel's neighbour Zablon Wanje said the couple hosted a party in their house a day before the killing.
