Two Murang’a nominated MCAs have been suspended for months over cases of indiscipline.
Joyce Wambui was suspended for two months for assaulting chief whip Samson Wamwea on
July 27
during a meeting at Kasarani.
On the other hand, Catherine Wanjiku is said to have insulted the leader of majority Eric Kamande and was suspended for three months.
After the attack, Wamwea wrote a complaint to the Powers and Privileges committee chaired by speaker Nduati Kariuki seeking redress.
It is said the MCA insulted the chief whip before slapping him.
Wamwea said the nominated MCA found him signing the attendance register and started hurling insults at him and then slapped him when he became unresponsive.
But in her defence, Njoki told the committee it is the chief whip who insulted her and she pushed him away.
She accused him of making sexual advances towards her.
The committee tabled its findings before the House and recommended her suspension which members overwhelmingly supported.
Murang'a MCAs have had several confrontations since they were elected last year.
The first incident was in November when they from his office accusing him of failing to consult them.
In January, Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) summoned 17 MCAs who engaged in fights over leadership positions.

EACC also served them with warning letters prohibiting them from engaging in violent activities in the assembly.
Eight of them were then charged with creating disturbance and released on a cash bail of Sh100,000 each.
This culminated to a meeting organised by the county government in partnership with the Jubilee party in Mombasa in January.
The MCAs resolved to work together after the Mombasa meeting.
