Learning was paralysed at North Horr primary school, Marsabit county after a swam of locusts invaded the institution on Wednesday.
The insects, said to have migrated to the area following heavy rains, forced the pupils to stay away from their classrooms.
Locals said the locusts were spotted after heavy rains which pounded the region on Tuesday night.
Pupils were forced to take their lessons in the open as the school administration moved to control the insects from spreading further.
