Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo collapsed during a function in Alego Usonga on Saturday.
Otiende was attending the funeral of the son of former MP Oloo Aringo before he collapsed.
Witnesses said the MP had just finished reading his speech when the incident happened.
"He collapsed on his chair and was rushed to Bondo where doctors stabilised him."
The legislator was moved to Aga Khan hospital from where he is expected to be flown to Nairobi.
He is suspected to be fatigued.
The MP was at Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti's appeal hearing all day on Thursday.
Otiende also participated in a number of activities at his constituency on Friday, among them construction works.
