Eight Jubilee MPs yesterday defended the multi-billion shillings loan secured by the government on Thursday, saying the money will be used to spur economic growth.
Led by Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, the leaders said the government borrowed Sh200 billion to finance numerous development projects captured in this year 2017-18 financial budget.

Speaking at Nguka ACK Church in Kirinyaga county, the leaders said the government has to borrow to invest.
They
dismissed opposition concerns that the country’s debt is rising to an
unsustainable level.
They said compared to other developing countries, Kenya's debt is manageable.
Kindiki was accompanied by Kirinyaga Senator Charles Kibiru, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirichi, Nyandarua Women Representative Faith Gitau and Tharaka MP John Gitonga.
They others are Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami,Laikipia MP Patrick Kiarahu and Mwea MP Kabinga Thayu.
